DOING SUITS

DOING SUITS

Both suits from Zara

Suits are no more just a man thing. Blazer with palazzo pants, belted jackets or structured tops with skirts or shorts.. the variety  of combinations for suits are more then a few. You can have fun, play with bold colors and different fabrics .. never though about soft suits in linen? Amazing for summer nights.

DRESS SCANDINAVIAN

DRESS SCANDINAVIAN

If you are just a bit into the big world of fashion and of the Scandinavian style you surely know about Pernille Teisbaek, a well known danish influencer, street style star and now co-owner and creative director of the agency “Social Zoo” that brings together fashion and influencers. She’s also a published author thanks to her first ever book in which she introduces us to her nordic and unique style.

As the title says, it is a guide to the Scandinavian fashion and trends with many different sections: statement pieces and how to style them, the layering technique, how to dress when always on the go and and how to find the perfect color/material match to our own skin tone ( pretty sure I am on the cold-skin team, what about you? )

The content is various and always interesting, but it’s not just about that. Another reason why this book really gets you, it’s thanks to of its  minimal setting, various fonts and layout. It has colored pages trough-out the chapters and also pages full of images of different kind of looks or accessories, based on the section you are reading. I love the cover as well, it’s so eye catching thanks to the shot they choose in which Pernille is wearing an all yellow look with the infamous banana t-shirt from Ganni.

As we all know, fashion is highly volatile; what’s in one season may be reconsidered during the next one, so lots of times also books become outdated pretty quickly. This is not the case! Pernille here doesn’t just talks about what’s trending and whats not, but mostly about herself, her style, her way of dressing and matching different kind of patterns and textures. So to sum it up: she’s talking about her brand, her personal unique one that’s something rarely goes out of date right? 😉

Go for it if you have the chance, you’ll feel very inspired and inebriated by the nordic style … it’s deinitely a cool addiction to every book shelves!

TOULOUSE LAUTREC

TOULOUSE LAUTREC

From top left to bottom right: La Clowness assise, Madamoiselle Cha-u-Kao, 1896 / Jane Avril, 1899 / La passagère du 54 ou promenade en yacht, 1895 / Moulin Rouge: La Goulue, 1891

Nothing’s better than going to art exhibitions when the weather is cloudy and rainy. Decided to go the Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec exhibit in Milano, which I’ve been postponing on going since forever. Since high school I’ve been fascinated with the way he realized posters that promoted different Montmartre’s entertainers as celebrities and artists using the lithographic technique… As Cora Michael, from the The Metropolitan Museum of Art, said “it is fair to say that without Lautrec, there would be no Andy Warhol”.

All its subjects and way of portraying them makes all his works really interesting to discover!

HAIR INSPO

I’ve always been the kind of girl who loves to play with her hair, changing lengths, color and style. During the last year, after going back to being a brunette ( tried a lot to be a blondie but always came back to my old self) and making my fringe grow out, I haven’t done anything new. So now I am here thinking about cutting them short, like in the pictures, just to change and spice things up a bit.
