POSTCARD FROM SOUTHERN ITALY

POSTCARD FROM SOUTHERN ITALY

It’s already mid July, and in less than a months there will finally be summer holidays. Two free weeks in which I do see myself doing some of my favorite things: sun-bathing, enjoying the seaside, reading books ( preferably thrillers ) and surely eating well.

The plan is still not fully down but I will surely spend some time in Otranto, that’s in the south of Italy. A magic place in which I always go back to. It has an amazingly green-blu colored sea, amazing food and the people are so nice as well.

Tell me your plans!

LUSIANA MUSEUM OF MODERN ART

LUSIANA MUSEUM OF MODERN ART

Located 40 kms north of Copenhagen (just about 45 minutes by train) in the city of Humlebaek, the Luisiana Museum of Modern Art is set in an amazing location that looks directly at the Øresund, the stretch of water that separates Denmark from Sweden. It’s a very peaceful place where everything’s connected: the buildings to the landscape and to the hundreds of art pieces.

Founded by Knud Jensen in 1958 owes it’s name, Louisiana, to the original owner Alexander Brun’s three wives. They were all called Louise. Don’t you think that’s a funny coincidence?

As I was making researches for what to visit while being in the danish capital, one of the things that everyone kept recommending was this place. I spent a whole afternoon there and I can say that it’s definitely one of those places that should be top of your list when you visit Copenhagen.

Louisiana has an extensive permanent collections that include the Giacometti Gallery, Asger Jorn’s work, Warhol pieces and the amazing installation Gleaming Lights of the Souls by Yayoi Kusama. This last installation is really an amazing experience that makes you get into an amazing world made of lights and shadows.

Until the 27th of May you can also admire an extensive collection made of160 pieces from Picasso’s original ceramics that represents a late, fortunate and highly imaginative part of his work. I was also lucky to see the The way I think collection by Georg Condo. An amazing mix of input from artists such as Velazquez, Manet and Picasso, together with elements of American Pop Art.

A must-see that you cannot miss!

A place I will gladly come back to, maybe in the summer time, to enjoy its amazing gardens even more.

THE BRIDGE

THE BRIDGE

Necessaire/clutch bag from The Bridge

This is one of the things I always carry with me! It’s full of essential things, such as lip balms and hair clips… but it’s also nice to use it as a clutch bag, for those occasions such as a night out where just a few things are needed!

SUNDAY IN

SUNDAY IN

socks from Falke / silk pyjama shirt and trousers from Asceno / sleep mask from Slip / soft-cup bra from Yasmine Eslami

Sometimes what you need is just a stay-at-home-to-relax kind of day to recharge and get ready for the full week ahead of you. So here I have collected some of the so called musts to enjoy your day at its best.

  • The Asceno’s ivory pyjama set is amazing, both for its nuance and for the classic structures. Love the pocket on the shirt and the little black lines both on the shirt and the trousers. Let’s say it is luxurious take on loungewear.
  • I am not a slipper lover when at home. I love to walk around barefoot but that’s something it’s better to avoid during the coldest months of the year.. so these cashmere blend socks from Falke are perfect in my opinion. Also love the color as well, an amazing mix of green and light blue .
  • Sleep masks are not generally something I wear, but they surely help for little naps in the middle of the day!
  • Comfortable soft cup bra are perfect for chill days, we girls know about that! This one from Yasmine Eslami is surely in my wishlist as it is really simple but looks so cozy also thank to its stretch-tulle material. Moreover the mint hue makes me want to wear it now.

Once you are comfortably dressed for your day, its time to pull out a magazine while relaxing music plays in the background. Lately I’ve discovered this amazing artist called SOHN, a talented British songwriter that’s gives both dancing and relaxing vibes. I would recommend giving him a try, you won’t be disappointed.

DRESS SCANDINAVIAN

DRESS SCANDINAVIAN

If you are just a bit into the big world of fashion and of the Scandinavian style you surely know about Pernille Teisbaek, a well known danish influencer, street style star and now co-owner and creative director of the agency “Social Zoo” that brings together fashion and influencers. She’s also a published author thanks to her first ever book in which she introduces us to her nordic and unique style.

As the title says, it is a guide to the Scandinavian fashion and trends with many different sections: statement pieces and how to style them, the layering technique, how to dress when always on the go and and how to find the perfect color/material match to our own skin tone ( pretty sure I am on the cold-skin team, what about you? )

The content is various and always interesting, but it’s not just about that. Another reason why this book really gets you, it’s thanks to of its  minimal setting, various fonts and layout. It has colored pages trough-out the chapters and also pages full of images of different kind of looks or accessories, based on the section you are reading. I love the cover as well, it’s so eye catching thanks to the shot they choose in which Pernille is wearing an all yellow look with the infamous banana t-shirt from Ganni.

As we all know, fashion is highly volatile; what’s in one season may be reconsidered during the next one, so lots of times also books become outdated pretty quickly. This is not the case! Pernille here doesn’t just talks about what’s trending and whats not, but mostly about herself, her style, her way of dressing and matching different kind of patterns and textures. So to sum it up: she’s talking about her brand, her personal unique one that’s something rarely goes out of date right? 😉

Go for it if you have the chance, you’ll feel very inspired and inebriated by the nordic style … it’s deinitely a cool addiction to every book shelves!
