RED and PINK

RED and PINK

cotton-jersey sweatshirt from Acne Studios / bag from Marni / backless flats from Aquazzura / sunglasses from Pull&Bear

Pink and red, two colors I love but never really considered wearing them combined in the same outfit. Lately this combo somehow got me wanting to experiment more on colors like these two… just to look a bit like a candy, am I right? Talking about my selection of pieces..  I am a long-time Aquazzura fan, from their sandals to these beautiful backless flats with exotic vibes that I would wear right now! The sweatshirt and sunglasses are such classics and evergreen pieces that don’t even need much explanation 😉 Last but not least… the bag! Its red enamel and gold-tone metal circular handle gives a bag that would be otherwise a pretty simple one, some structure and character.

Stockholm fashion week started and I’ve already fell in love with most of the runaways, mostly with Filippa K’s pieces! Here some of my favorite looks! Soft, silky and light fabrics paired with a wool sweater, classic coat that have those amazing details I always look for where searching for new coats, all-black with a touch of green and those white boots really got me!

WANT WANT WANT TO WEAR

WANT WANT WANT TO WEAR

Ganni Sweater / Toteme Tights / Zara Bag / Mango Mules

I have been literally dreaming about this outfit, that’s pretty simple, all week long. From the Toteme tights that are both comfy and so elegant, to the mules from mango that are embellished with a satin knot on top! Also, the bag gives a touch of color with its light blue nuance together with the flower-shaped beads straps.

Would wear it for a cocktail date out in the city. Where would you? 😉

ON MY MIND – Urban Outfitters edition

ON MY MIND – Urban Outfitters edition

As probably all of you already know, a few days ago the first Urban Outfitters store opened in Milano…finally! And I underline that finally, as it took a lot of time (read it as: years) for the brand to actually open a store that can be called like that. Before there was just a little tiny corner of the brand at the Rinascente, a department store, but didn’t have a lot of items to be honest.

So I’ve thought about drawing up a sort of f wishlist with all the clothes/accessories/nice things and so on that you can find at the store! They have plenty of brands and products so choosing among all of them has been quite hard, since I do like a looot of things there!

So, enjoy and tell me what you would/are going to buy there!

  1. BDG Burgundy Velvet Puddle Trousers: velvet is quite a huge thing this season, you can basically find it everywhere. These burgundy ones have slightly wide leg, they are minimalistic but at the same time really catchy for the eyes!
  2. Vintage Inspired Twisted Texture Chunky Rope Hoop Earrings: I would wear hoops everyday, mostly if they are simple yet not too much like these vintage inspired pair.
  3. Elephant Tea Mug: just image yourself, under a blanket sipping tea or a cappuccino from this amazingly cute mug!! It’s a yes!
  4. Mario Badescu Mask + Mist Duo Set: if feeling purified with the cucumber mask and refreshed with the facial spray with cucumber and green tea is what we need, then those two products could be perfect!
  5. Urban Outfitters Geometric Half-Zip Mock Neck Jumper: geometric patterns and the half-zip mock neck gives me somehow a cosy-coolish vibes! The touch of red is amazing!
  6. Dress Scandinavian by Pernille Teisbaek: If you know me you already know I am huge fan of Scandinavian countries, from their way of life, to their traditions, interior, food and last but not least of their style! So this book couldn’t not being featured in this list!
  7. iets frans, Slogan D-Ring Belt: what can I say about this belt? I am in love and can’t wait to get a hold of it!
A COAT TALE

A COAT TALE

“ This is the tale of Clarissa, and how she unexpectedly found the most powerful magic of all ”.

That’s how Max Mara introduces us to the storytelling developed by the T Brand Studio for their Autumn/Winter 2017 collection. From coats to knit caps, the Italian brand keeps on designing pieces characterized by clear shapes, monochromatic and high quality fabrics.

Clarissa, the main character of the tale, during one of her daily walks in the park is almost struck down by this woman called Morgana, described as “one of those women who takes themselves very very seriously, as they power through the street, phone in one hand and a massive coffee in the other”… so, to sum it up, a business lady who doesn’t even care to look at you for a second, if needed.

Needles to say, both of them are impeccably clothed head to toe with the brand’s new collection. Their iconic timeless coats are the main objects for sure.

Despite meeting frequently and being ignored daily, Clarissa keeps greeting her with “Have a nice day” and, as every respectable tale, it has an happy ending: one day Morgana starts to greet Clarissa back, smiling at her. As the narrator says, we always have to remember that “the treasures of the heart are the most powerful magic of all”.  Sweet isn’t it?

Moreover in this short film we have Anna Baryshnikov, daughter of the legendary dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov, as the narrator.

Developing a storytelling like MaxMara did, it’s what helps a brand appeal to the emotions and prospects of customers, actual and potential. It’s now years that brands in all kind of industries understood that it is the most effective way to connect with the audience, to tell them a story that its closely connected to the brand’s products or services.

Its importance is purely based on the fact that people always remember a good story, we easily forget names and face. We forget what we learned in school. But we certainly don’t forget a good story.

A story can give personification and importance to something that could be compared to others.

So when I’ll come across a Max Mara boutique, seeing a mannequin dressed with one of their amazing coats will surely make me think about Clarissa, Morgana and their story.

Thumbs up.
