THE POLKA DOTS

THE POLKA DOTS

Blouse from Mango / Denim skirt from Monki / Bag from Mango / Sunglasses from Zara

After a long work week, having some time off lazely wandering through Milano is definitely something I need. Hot days means we can start to wear summerish looks combined with bare legs, like the one you can see in the pictures.

As said from Marc Jacobs ” There is never a wrong time for a polka dot “. He’s right, it is an evergreen that can never go wrong or become boring. It just gives you a retro vibe, like you’ve direclty come from the amazing 50’s. Micro or macro, colorful or mixed with different textures, designers usually go crazy. Look at Balenciaga or Blumarine with its polka dots and lace dresses, or even Carolina Herrera with teeny tiny white dots on amazing purple fabrics…and that’s just to name a few.  It can not even be considered as a trend, as it comes back every year in different shapes and forms but always about dots we are talking about. One of my faves, like in the blouse I wore, is polka dots in black & white. Mostly paired with denim in all different nuances.

DANCY DANCY

DANCY DANCY

Skirt from Zara / T-shirt from Topshop / Flats from Gucci

Dancy mood though the city with my long fake-leather, unbuttoned skirt! The perfect outfit for white wine and some snacks on the side street cafes.

MADS NØRGAAD ESSENTIALS

MADS NØRGAAD ESSENTIALS

Long sleeved basic striped t-shirts from Mads Nørgaard

Being a fan of Scandinavian brands led me to visit Mads Nørgaard boutique while in Copenhagen. Obviously couldn’t leave the shop empty handed. I went for two long sleeved t-shirts that immediately got my attention, the one on the left is not what I would usually choose but it’s so springy and made me think of lazy days out that I immediately tried it. The second one is basically a mix of the colors I love the most. They are perfect on their own or also paired with a denim jacket or plain black one!

THE BRIDGE

THE BRIDGE

Necessaire/clutch bag from The Bridge

This is one of the things I always carry with me! It’s full of essential things, such as lip balms and hair clips… but it’s also nice to use it as a clutch bag, for those occasions such as a night out where just a few things are needed!

GO LIGHT BLUE

GO LIGHT BLUE

light blue v-neck oversized sweater / hounds tooth check pants

As the weather here in Milano is not so nice lately, I tend to choose colorful pieces just to brighten my mood and overall looks a little bit. Literally love the oversized v neck sweater’s nuance of light blue I keep borrowing from my dad’s closet. It also has little ruffles on the wrist. I also think it goes really nice with a simple pair of pants with hounds tooth check pattern, also called and known as pied-de-poule.

So, even if it’s still full winter, I am longing for sunnier days and less heavy clothes. Lets hope spring will pop up soon!

IETS FRANS

IETS FRANS

Belt from Iets Frans / Vintage mom jeans from Diesel / Jacket from Aspesi Blu / Turtleneck from United Colors of Benetton

Belts over jackets are surely a thing right now. Got my Iets Frans belt in Urban Outfitters, after being in my wishlist just for a short while; you can also find it in other different variations such as this one that I like very much too. Paired it with a fluffy white jacket from Aspesi that has a short classic cut: the combo makes the jacket a little more sporty, also thanks to the jeans I decided to wear. A white turtleneck finished the look, keeping it all very light and matchy.
